3 Rules of The Power of Spoken Word

Sometimes people deeply underestimate the power of words.  Some people realize this when they have children. Understanding cam come when we correct our kids’ behavior in the same way that our parents corrected our words and behaviors.  It is in these moments that some peopel realize why they are the way you are and why you are not the way you would like to be.

The power of  spoken word.

From early childhood we are told to behave, think or act the certain way. This program is instilled onto us by our parents with constant repetition of certain phrases.

If you are lucky, these words bring you positive character traits like confidence, motivation, inspiration and  love. If not, these words could be the seeds that plant secret fears in your mind.

1 rukHowever, now you are a grown up person, so try to choose the people around you wisely (Read the 2 part of F.R.I.E.D.S. post) because according to Jim Rohn, American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker (and I agree with him), “we are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with”. Therefore in my life I use a few rules to ensure I’m surrounded by positivity.

Rule #1 Choose the people around you wisely. These people will consume your time but what will they give back to you in return?  It is up to you to choose people who will support you, motivate you and stimulate you of their own independent accord to become a better version of yourself.

So stop thinking that you cannot do something and start thinking that you can, because in any of these cases you will be right. What you need to think is what resources, knowledge, skills and connections you need to bring you to the place you would like to be.

Rule # 2 Do not expect others to excite and inspire you. Be your own motivation to yourself. Jeff Moore, Founder of My Everyday Power, recommends writing down 3 things that you love about yourself every morning. Even if you do not 100% believe that you have this particular feature fully established in your personality, still write this down, “I love that I am …. (healthy/happy /social/ educated/ intelligent/ friendly/ kind/rich/ strong/ a fitness model/a positive person) etc”.

When I was a kid I clearly remember that I could not understand why there are mean and bad people in this world. The suggestion I came to was, “There are no bad people on this planet. There are only people who have not been told that they are good, nice and brilliant when they needed that so much”. Therefore, I come to:

Rule # 3 Say kind words of support, motivation and inspiration to the people around. Light their light, make their day by telling how incredibly cool they are, and pointing out their unique characteristics or achievements that you appreciate and respect the most! Do not be afraid to give out your love and positive attitude. When you say so wonderful things to your friends, those words also become a part of yourself and subconsciously you heed them and start believe in them; Just like if  someone told them to you!
